These photographs were taken at an Intro to Cyanotype Printing workshop I taught at Klum House in Portland, Oregon. Students learned the cyanotype process from start to finish—beginning with how to mix their own chemistry, coat fabric and paper with photosensitive emulsion, create photograms in the summer sun, and use toners to further manipulate finished prints. The group experimented with a wide variety of printing materials, from feathers and ferns to metal cooling racks and pearlescent glass stones.

In Portland? Interested in learning the cyanotype process? Let's talk! I offer private workshops when schedules (and sun) allow.
